Soul of An Angel

I stood alone in a world where I felt I didn't belong
A world of words and feelings that didn't seem to work for me.
I made all the motions, played the games I was taught
But my soul wasn't in it, it was sleeping, or maybe lost.
There was no link for me, no hope of joy,
Either here or in that place to where we all return.

And then, in the distance I saw a light.
A warm glow that beckoned me close.
I saw it came from a very handsome man, but so much more.
He spoke of love, compassion, hope and understanding.
He spoke to my soul of a faith to be embraced.
Of a place where all are welcomed who live in love.

And my soul dropped the walls, looked out to see.
And it found a place of trust, of faith, of hope.
And my soul knew it had found one of it's own.
And I cried the tears of a lifetime of looking, of wanting, of needing a place to call home.

Who is this man, you may ask, who offered so much?
Who offers it to all, friend or foe?
He is a simple man. A man of compassion and love.
A man with a special gift from heaven above.
His name is Derek Acorah.
And his soul is that of an angel.

I know, because I have felt it's love.
